Sulfonic Acid resin is a strong cation exchange resin and is capable of scavenging the heterocyclic bases, in addition to primary, secondary and tertiary amines. Sulfonic Acid resin can also be used in many acid catalyzed reactions such as acetal and ketal formation. It is an excellent choice for the “catch and release” purification of amines resulting from a variety of reactions including reductive aminations.
